Visitor Verification

Food, Drink & Hospitality Week (FDHW) is a business trade event that connects professionals in food and drink (manufacturing, supply and distribution), foodservice, catering and hospitality with brands, products and services.

To establish that all attendees to FDHW are legitimate professionals in the industry, the trade status, employment and/or business of all visitors will be verified. If the information provided is false, illegitimate or irrelevant, the FDHW team reserve the right to decline a visitor’s registration and entry to FDHW.

• All Montgomery Group events are strictly trade events and therefore visitor registrations will be verified and visitors required to provide proof of trade status and industry relevance when registering to FDHW. To ensure a smooth registration process you may need to provide additional information and if you cannot your registration may not be approved. Additional information includes but is not limited to:

  • Website or social media business page URL

  • Connection between yourself and the business (i.e. work email address, LinkedIn profile)

  • Connection between the business and hospitality, retail or foodservice and associated industries.

• IFE is a business-to-business trade event and therefore does not admit visitors under the age of 18.

• Registration is free of charge until 11:59 pm on Sunday 16th March 2025. Any registrations taking place from 12:00 am on Monday 17th March 2025 will be charged at £40 to encourage visitors to register before arriving onsite and to discourage any non-trade visitors attempting to enter the event. For full payment terms and conditions please click here.

• From 5pm on Tuesday 18th March 2025 online registration will be closed. Anyone wishing to register after this must do so with the onsite team at the main registration desk at Excel and will be asked to show proof of trade status.

• Onsite registration will close at 2pm on Wednesday 19th March 2025. There will be additional ID and bag checks from 3pm to show close on all days. There will be a dedicated registration desk located in the central boulevard for any outstanding registration queries and onsite registration.

• All attendees, be they visitors, exhibitors, press, competitors or speakers, to Montgomery Group events must hold a valid badge and be registered for the current show either at the event or pre-show.

• Badge holders must not allow their badges to be worn by anyone else. Any failure is likely to lead to the badge holder and the person wearing the badge being removed from the event and possibly being barred from attending future Montgomery Group events.

• Anyone attending IFE should carry some form of photo-ID (passport, photo-ID driving licence, national identity card) or other identification. FDHW staff have the right to request proof of business ID, e.g. business card, website or LinkedIn. If the proof provided is fraudulent, or staff deem it illegitimate, visitors may be asked to leave the show. Random ID checks will be carried out and additional security will be positioned on the entrances and patrolling the show floor.

• Anyone attending IFE must not take part in any canvassing, leafleting, demonstrations, objectionable behaviour or any activity which may disrupt the business activities at the show.

• Press badges at IFE are restricted to publishers, editors, journalists, photographers, broadcasters and bloggers associated with the relevant industries. Members of the press may be required to complete an application form and produce accreditation in the form of a photocopy of a recognised press or media card, business card, NUJ card, a letter from the editor or an official web address linking to a press release or article in order to verify their position. If you are already receiving event press releases from us, you will be emailed a press code by us which you should enter when registering for the event. If you wish to start receiving our releases and would like to attend the event, please email nicola.macdonald@montgomerygroup.com with details of your publication and job title. Press applications from advertising personnel and media sales representatives will not be accepted.

• Official photographers & videographers will be taking photographs and other images at IFE. The Organisers shall be entitled to use such photographs, which may include photographs or video footage of visitors, for the purpose of marketing the event attended and other Montgomery Group events in the future. If you would prefer this not to be the case, please email a photograph of yourself to ifeteam@montgomerygroup.com. The subject of the email must include the show name and DO NOT USE MY PHOTO.

Health and Safety

• Due to the health and safety restrictions of the venue, no pushchairs or buggies will not be allowed to enter the halls. The aisles are very busy and in the event of a fire pushchairs or other buggies may impede the swift exit of the building.

• Montgomery Group has no control over the food products distributed at our shows and cannot be held responsible for any allergic reactions to food sampled or purchased whilst at one of our events.

• Montgomery Group shows take place in multi-purpose public venues, which host a variety of events during every week of every year. Therefore, the venue is as susceptible to any allergen as any other public place and should be treated with precisely the same degree of caution.

• Sampling of products at FDHW is designed for visitors with a legitimate business interest in the product to test on an individual basis only. There will be a limited amount of sampling available and sample distribution is at the discretion of the exhibitors. There will not be large amounts of food available at the event. FDHW works with charity partners to ensure there is minimal food waste at the events.

Disputes and Disagreements

• FDHW has a duty to protect the welfare and safety of staff and all persons at the event.

• Please be aware that the FDHW staff, registration staff and the Excel staff reserve the right to admit or decline any visitors to the event or have them removed from the premises. FDHW staff will treat individuals with courtesy, respect and fairness and we request our staff are treated in the same way.

• If individuals behave unacceptably or unreasonably, as event organisers, we reserve the right to remove individuals from the event. We understand that people may act out of character due to frustration, but if frustration becomes aggressive or is disruptive, the Organisers reserve the right to exclude or remove anyone from any of the FDHW events and venue.
