Taiwan Select pavilion wraps up first successful showcase at IFE 2025

The Taiwan Select Pavilion proudly welcomed over 400 attendees to its inaugural exhibit at the esteemed International Food & Drink Event (IFE 2025), held at the ExCel in London from 17-19 March. This landmark occasion marked a resounding success, showcasing the vibrant richness of Taiwanese cuisine and culture to key food and beverage B2B stakeholders and major buyers in the UK.
Jointly organized by Taiwan’s International Trade Administration and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the Pavilion featured 200 carefully selected products from 90 Taiwanese businesses, highlighting innovations and a commitment to quality in response to the growing demand for health-conscious and eco-friendly options.
Taiwan Select took center stage at the event, delivering an Opening Ceremony and multiple tasting sessions featuring vibrant cuisine from the destination. In collaboration with chef Tiffany Chang, cooking demonstrations were held to illustrate the preparation of Beef Noodle Soup and Guo Tie dumplings using traditional recipes adapted for contemporary cooking.
Engaging activities such as a special Gua Bao with Braised Pork Belly tastings, Foodie Wheel Bingo, and Recipe Kit Workshops kept the Pavilion a focal point throughout the event. Visitors left with snack samples and recipe kits to deepen their understanding of the application of Taiwanese food products.
According to a recent national survey conducted in Q3 2024, Asian cuisine is among the top choices for UK consumers open to trying international food1, as evidenced by significant monthly search volumes for Asian cuisines in the UK.2 This growing interest in Asian flavours underscores the potential for Taiwanese food producers to capture a larger share of the UK market.
Ms. Rachel Lu, Executive Vice Director from TAITRA, expressed delight at the positive response that the Pavilion received from attendees, with experiences that strengthened cultural and trade connections through insights-sharing.
Visitors were impressed by the extensive selection of products at the exhibition. Crafted for the modern lifestyle, while honouring Taiwan’s rich culinary heritage, the 200 products shortlisted by Taiwan Select all embody three foundational elements: exceptional quality, distinctive flavor profiles, and versatility. Many of them not only comply with stringent national and international food standards but are adorned with a prestigious array of certifications, including Monde Selection, ITQI, Halal, Organic, Clean Label, and A.A. Taste Awards.
Taiwanese food companies are also committed to upholding responsible sourcing practices to support local and small-scale producers, while rigorously adhering to food safety regulations to build trust among UK consumers.
With an increasing awareness and appreciation for authentic Taiwanese cuisine, Taiwan Select aims to position itself as a preferred choice among discerning consumers, and to foster robust connections between Taiwanese food producers and buyers in the UK. The brand will continue supporting Taiwanese companies to establish a foothold within the UK's competitive landscape, enhancing their visibility in key retail channels and supermarkets nationwide.
