In the latest in IFE's Buyer Insights series, we talk to Geoff Hutley, Senior Buyer at Compass Supply Solutions, a leading drinks and ambient foods supplier to the cruise industry, airlines & airports, rail, travel retail and hospitality.
Tell us a bit about your role?
Working in travel retail, I work closely with business development looking for new trends as well as new national and international brands to introduce to our Travel clients
What do you love about working in food & drink?
It is the ever changing variety of products and new product categories that make it impossible to get bored or complacent and being part of these as they develop
What trend or product do you think will be making waves in 2025?
No and low alcohol products is a massively growing category that is appealing to all demographics
How do you discover new products and trends?
I suppose I am a bit of a media junkie not only looking into all the normal publications but also those more niche ones and national press. In addition attending events like the IFE to experience this first hand and improve on our supplier base so we can continue to stay acquainted with changes.
What are you hoping to learn/source from IFE this year?
Looking for new ideas in the snacking categories, allergen free products that look and taste good, new international suppliers.
