Born in Mozambique, Tio Zé was raised in a home where the kitchen was the heart of it all, filled with bold flavours and irresistible aromas—a fusion of Portuguese spices, African heat, and Arabic and Oriental influences. It is here he learned the art of making piri piri by hand, with real ingredients, no shortcuts, and with loads of passion.

Now, this same home-made secret has been perfected, bottled, and shared with the world—still made by hand, still bold, still unapologetically traditional. Whether you’re grilling, marinating, dipping, or just spooning it straight from the jar (no judgment), every drop is authentic piri piri.

At Tio Zé, our products are made with only fresh, locally sourced ingredients: sun-ripened chilies, fresh garlic & lemon juice, non-GMO oil, and quality herbs & spices. No preminced garlic. No bottled lemon juice. No artificial anything.
