The Journey of Small Producers to the Major Multiples, in association with The Co Op
When & Where
10:30 - 11:10, Tuesday 21st March 2017
The Talking Trends Stage
This Q&A panel will look at what smaller producers can do to give their products the best chance of a listing with a multiple. Amanda Ross, CEO of Cactus TV, that produces Saturday Kitchen, and Cactus Kitchens, which is home to Michel Roux Jr's cookery school but also has dedicated product development kitchen, will reveal how a development kitchen can hone a producer's offering to the marketplace. Mark Fielding of VYPR will explain how you can make the case for a consumer need for your product and the four smaller producer winners from last year's Quality Food Awards will be on hand to give details of their own journey. These comprise: singer-songwriter and now tea entrepreneur Gareth Gates of Cuppanut; Michelle Wilkinson of The Very Lovely Sauce Company; Francis Oyewole of Green Lady Tea; and Ben Vear of Emily Crisps. We will also have Sue Wade from the Co-op to explain what a major multiple is looking for in a small producer supplier. The session will be hosted by Helen Lyons and Tania O'Donnell from Quality Food Awards.
