ALcontrol Laboratories has become the first contract laboratory facility of its kind to gain ServiceMark accreditation for customer service.
ALcontrol, which has a large laboratory in Rotherham, alongside other sites in Shrewsbury, Newton Abbot, Dunstable and Bellshill, has been awarded the prestigious Service Mark award.
ServiceMark is awarded by The Institute of Customer Service and is the national standard recognising an organisation’s commitment to customer service.
It is given out based on outside inspections and customer feedback.
ALcontrol managing director Mike McCorkell said: “Service Mark fits perfectly with how we work as an organisation.
“Every one of the samples we test is important and so is every one of our employees because the quality of our service is down to them.
“We want to be friendly and fun to work with as well as reliable and trusted, based on good science.
“The Service Mark award is another milestone that shows we are going in the right direction.
“Not only are we committed to giving our customers the best possible experience we can but we are now delivering it day in, day out.”
ALcontrol, which employs 175 people in Rotherham tests food and water to ensure safety and quality, is the first commercial laboratory in the UK to achieve the award.
Mr McCorkell said the firm was known for its “dynamic, friendly and energetic employees who are not only talented in testing but also great to work with”.
